The world’s priciest home!

Updown
It’s a cozy little place — only 103 rooms. And it comes with its own helipads, panic room, marble driveways, five swimming pools, and 22 marble bathrooms. It also has 58 acres of gardens and woodlands and more than 50,000 square feet of living space. Updown Court in Surrey, England has been named the world’s priciest home for sale by Forbes magazine. The property — with a pricetag of $138 million — has been on the market for more than two years. John Vaughan of Savills www.savills.com, the company handling the sale, said it’s no surprise it’s taking a while to sell it. “The number of people who have $138 million to spend on a house is pretty small,” he said. But the house has drawn offers — all below the asking price.

Coincidentally, the London “Times” reported this week that Qatar’s foreign minister has purchased a penthouse for $196 million in the One Hyde Park development overlooking Hyde Park
