Rapid project

JOHOR BARU: United Malayan Land (UM Land) sees the rapid development of Iskandar Development Region (IDR) as boosting the property market in Johor as buyers are now more active.
General manager Wong Kuen Kong said he was confident of the market as buyers were more active now, “with most of the houses in our projects being taken up faster.”
He expects land prices in the IDR to increase by at least 10% by the end of the year.
UM Land is currently developing the Seri Austin and Seri Alam townships.
It delivered 363 double-storey houses in Seri Austin eight months ahead of schedule. The cluster houses in Phase 1C, scheduled to be completed in November, received their certificates of fitness last month.

Director of operations Zulkifly Garib told a recent press conference the developer last November handed over 153 single-storey houses in Phase 1A, ahead of the July completion schedule. He is confident that Phase 1B of 268 houses, expected to be completed in November, will be ready by June.
Seri Austin, a major housing project on 202ha freehold land in Johor, is developed by a wholly-owned unit Dynasty View Sdn Bhd.
The township, about 20km from the city centre, is surrounded by shopping complexes, hypermarkets, two golf courses, a hospital and a college.
Zulkifly said the company planned to set up public surveillance and central monitoring systems at Seri Austin to enhance security at the township.
The second phase of Seri Austin, including 64 cluster houses, 150 double-storey houses, and 37 commercial lots in Phase One, would be launched soon.
UM Land will launch two more township developments within IDR in the next two years.
